Master Layouts
Master ‘parent’ layouts for common elements. Same as Quark XPress. Change anything on the parent and the children all change. Anything changed on the children doesn’t affect the parent.

Yes! Master ‘parent’ layouts! I would *so* love this in the next version of FileMaker. ❦

Master pages? OK. That would be great assuming the developer knew what not to change on the master. Could be a problem but “user beware” could apply.

Totally in favor of it. Coming from a graphic arts background, I find the lack of master pages and style sheets in FileMaker to be severely limiting. This would be my number one as well.

Been wanting Master Layouts, or Frames, for years!

This would be a great boon! We have required page elements – logos, links, banners … which have to be used on every layout a user might see. These change periodically and it’s a real headache having to go layout by layout changing them all. Coming from a web development background, I find the lack of style sheets inexplicable and very frustrating.

This would be great. Especially for those developers that have a core product that they customise for different clients. Just think how much time that would save.. Seems such a basic necessity these days to use styling and yet FM doesn’t have it… just another frustration factor of this great product.
