Composite layouts

I would like multiple windows to be grouped in some kind of combined layout or view. Call it a SuperLayout or Grid View.

Each windowpane would point to a different table occurrence, and using a view manager one would be able to rearrange the whole view. I am not sure about this, but it could also address my #1 need: being able to build a grid-like view of records.

This would not only be usable for creating calendars and photo catalogs. Think of the possibities in combination with the new charting options in FMP11. It would allow for a great Business Information portal.

And also important: using a ‘view manager’ wouldn’t necessarily break the backwards compatibility. The windowpanes would merely display in separate windows in older versions of FileMaker. Not so nice ofcourse, but workable.
The viewmanager could be implemented graphically, and be integrated with the new Folder-structure of the layoutmanager in FMP11.
